World Laughter Day 2024: History, significance, you need to know
World Laughter Day is an annual event celebrated on the first Sunday of May to raise awareness about laughter and its many healing benefits. This year, in 2024, the day falls on May 05. WORLD LAUGHTER DAY: HISTORY
In 1998, World Laughter Day was created by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement.
Dr. Madan started the Laughter Yoga movement in 1995 with the aim of the facial feedback hypothesis, postulating that a person’s facial expressions can have an effect on their emotions.
WORLD LAUGHTER DAY CELEBRATION:
The celebration of World Laughter Day is a positive manifestation of world peace and is intended to build up a global consciousness of brotherhood and friendship through laughter.
Several community groups regularly practice simple international laughter techniques that promote wellness and overall well-being around the world. These community groups are known as Laughter Clubs.
